Trish Rux, Sacred Passage Doula
Contact information: 828-734-0882
Service area: Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina
Based in Asheville, North Carolina, Trish Rux is a Registered Nurse and certified Sacred Passage Doula with additional certification in Hospice and Palliative Care. She has over seven years of experience in an inpatient Hospice unit. She calls becoming a nurse “one of the best decisions I ever made.”
Trish brings certifications in Healing Touch and Mindfulness Meditation to her work with clients in a holistic approach to care. She attends to the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual realms when caring for clients. She will assist you in defining your wishes and offers care before, during and after death. Services may include practical planning, vigil, care for the body after death and bereavement care.
Most importantly, Trish sees working with the dying as a sacred calling.
Trish offers a background rich in study of death and dying and experience at the bedside of hundreds of dying people. This experience allows her to understand the physiological changes that occur and to recognize the comfort needs of each individual. Offering guided imagery, Healing Touch, relaxation breathing and recommendations for medical interventions, her caring presence and support are available as much or as little as needed during the end of life to the client and family.
“Your assistance was invaluable yesterday. Your expertise and knowledge base was a great help, and your manner was so warm and loving. You made a difficult conversation a piece of cake. I cannot thank you enough. What a great relief to know his wishes.” ~Denise S., a daughter
